As internet marketers we have to constantly be tracking and analyzing who we are trying to target. Sometimes I get wrapped up in what kind of traffic I want and who I need to be targeting.

But, most of the time you will get a good idea about who your target customer is by just talking to friends and family about your product.

You can ask, who do you think will use this and why?

Some tools that I use regularly to figure out what kind of niche to target or demographic are the following:

Google Insights

This is an incredible tool for figuring out who is searching for different terms, where the most search volume is and what’s getting more popular. I tend to use this more than almost any other search tool because it shows how the trends are changing.

Google Keyword Tool

By far the internet’s best keyword tool because it is aggregated by the internet’s best search compiler so if you aren’t using this one then you may want to rethink your strategies.

Quantcast

This is an amazing resource that not only shows traffic stats for any sites that are “quantified” but also shows demographics as well as “other sites that the visitors are interested in”

If you have any questions about how to use any of these free resources, shoot me an email at
